It's been a very fun story to write, I admit, and I suspect one of the reasons Tony feels the loss of his parents so keenly is that they were a good couple. Just my conjecture on that.

Oh, how adorable! I love Maria & her machinations with her mom, and Howard looking out for Cathy. And Howard drunk-dialing Maria was hilarious! {grin}

heh, thanks. Howard is a gentleman, despite his own past, and Maria certainly has enough brains to spare!

Obie-was there a time that he was never a dick? I think Tony certainly got a bit of his mothers sass!

I am so sorry it's taken me so long to comment...I got the notice at work and was actually late for a meeting so I could read it, but I didn't dare wait long enough to comment and this is the first chance I've had to come back to comment.

I was *SO* excited to see an update on this and, of course, THRILLED it was so close to the wedding. Howard and Maria are so beautifully written here. You've done such an incredible job crafting these characters and revealing the tiny threads of personality and character they will pass on to their son.

Of course, I love Howard's speech about Maria and his kindness to the stripper. I love that Maria was waiting there for him.

There are not enough words to convey how very much I love this story or how wonderfully you write it. Just, thank you.
