From the Beginning

Unlike many young people, I had little experience of having worked for a paycheck until after I finished college. Of course, I'd worked long and hard hours on the farm, especially after our primary direction was a dairy cows. Acting is about listening and reacting ... The best actors do lose themselves in the role, but are able to separate once the curtain comes down.

I'm not sure what your needs are now, but since you've reached a certain age, you can make as much money as you like and have it not affect your social security, right? I think you would be a grand ESL teacher. You have so much wisdom and experience to offer. Are there opportunities in the Fort Worth School District? I know at least one member of the city council is openly gay and you did the recent work with the police department.

HUGS!

I've thought of inquiring in the community colleges about teaching ESL. It's really more useful than just for the recent immigrants from Latin America, and yes, I am now old enough to make money doing whatever I wish. The work with the city employees will go on for at least two more years. It keeps me out of trouble.

It's a privilege and a delight to hear about a friend's journey...especially when it's been as long and as rewarding as yours. I don't believe I had previously heard about the theatre connections, making this account all the more engrossing.
I've heard it said that there's at least one good novel in each of us.... as you are demonstrating. Here's to the next chapter - Cheers!
