so it is Friday, just after 11am, I have just started a whole four days off which is just an amazing long time at the moment to me, as I haven't had more than a single day off at a time in the last 7 weeks, and I am listening to Radio Sheffield on BBC broadband, and they are playing Under the Boardwalk, and I am thinking about Shelly telling me

I dunno. I think a lot of people just aren't that interesting, myself. I only tried that brief little dip into the world of internet dating, but I was pretty disappointed with it. I looked for a site that sounded like it really drew out a lot of genuine-ness from people, and I had loads of fun answering the questions they ask you at the start, and then, when I got to reading other people's, found that most of them had just given really boring, standard answers. I only saw about 5 men that seemed interesting, and of those, only two that were close enough in age (i.e. within ten years-ish, since I'm pretty laid-back about that, as you know) and interests that it seemed worth writing to them. Only one of the two wrote back - he seems a nice bloke, and we've exchanged an email here and there, but I can't quite imagine that it's going to blossom into the relationship of our lives. Not because of anything about him or me, just so far we seem like we might well be friends if we get around to writing to each other, but there's no big magnetic

Yeah, that is the problem, isn't it - no mystery why the boys and I all got ill on the same day - we'd been trapped in a basement with no windows for several weeks dealing with hundreds of 18-22 year olds all newly arrived from all over the country and world (as the University is recruiting more and more international students).
