This has been one of the least productive weeks in recent memory. Classes have been skipped, work has been largely overlooked, scheduled extracurricular activities have been blown off. At the moment, we are feeling sluggish and somewhat guilty for all the laziness.

No kidding. I hate how everything that got "revealed" in the book came as a flash of inspiration. Over and over and over...argh.

Exactly. I appreciated all the research that must have gone into this book--really do. Despite all the embellishments, it's obvious that he did research his topic. The writing was, however, subpar. Totally agree. The way he kept repeating things, breaking up the syllables, beating you over the head with his subtleties, it was like reading a conversation transcript between Anne Sullivan and Helen Keller.

Brown hit every single effing cliche in this book. A very huge disappointment, when this was supposed to be my guilty pleasure for that week.

I did not like that the two fell in love, although I knew he'd go there from line one when he first met her. Never have a character check out the legs of another character unless you plan to have them shack up before the end.
