It's an Argentine tegu lizard. I learned about them when I had to write a short paper on basically anything dealing with ecology for my eco lab last semester. They have incredibly derpy faces and apparently make pretty entertaining pets.
That's it! I knew I had seen one before, one of my good friends/fieldwork partners from college used to have a tegu! And yes, they are totally entertaining.
