I understand and empathize - when you get tired, you can't help but imagine what you'd one day love to perk you up...I like your list, and many of the items on it...a lot of them are on mine, as well. :)

...and I don't think gentle and domestic is terrible...at all. ;)

I'm really not bothered by the fact that my daydreams are all domestic. I've got bigger daydreams, but right now, I just want to get somewhere where there aren't as many of the little things making me nuts.

I KNOW THE FEELING.

It's so hard for me to answer questions like, "What's your dream vacation?" because honestly, I don't have any one place I'd like to go. I'd just like for once in my life to feel like I have a home that's entirely mine. Sure, I had my apartment, but I couldn't use one room because it was my mom's bedroom. And it's an apartment, not a house, and I want to paint walls and change light fixtures and put custom light switch plates on the walls. You want to be surrounded by the colors of the sea, I want to be surrounded by a soft suggestion of cherry blossom trees.

Pale pink/white walls, light green carpeting, dark wood accents. I'm not even normally a pink person, but cherry blossoms remind me of my mom's house in Connecticut where I partially grew up and the tree outside was my favorite part of the whole house. Petals scattered across the driveway like snowflakes and the breeze smelled just heavenly in the spring.

Alas, daydreams.

I love the idea of a house like a cherry blossom. I can so get behind that.

For me...my dream house is a medley of colors. I love really rich warm colors for the "public" areas like the living room and kitchen. My mom did the living room in red and yellow several years ago and I LOVED it. Deep red and bright buttery yellow. It was so warm and welcoming. For me, I'd probably want to do like an indigo blue and warm goldeny yellow and gray in the kitchen, and...maybe more yellow and golds and browns and reds in the living room. Like the Old World-style decor, with old globes and dark woods and such. But in my bedroom...blues and greens all the way. Aaaall the way.
