Yep, put the rent check in the drop box last night. $1000, ouch!

And had to borrow, yet again from my savings which is to be my minimum contribution to get by for the moment, leaving me with $150 or so left over once the check clears ( Read more... )

Someone recently told me that winter is a terrible time for real estate of any kind. Maybe this is the opportunity to just save and move forward and strengthen the search again in the spring?

To be frank, it's been a seller's market here since I began the search, and prices have gone up some since then, fearing the window may have closed.

However, an article I stumbled upon today has some rays of hope, assuming some things happen, and one is, the job market seems to be stabilizing and people are feeling more confident about jumping jobs, so there may be an uptick in housing coming on the market come next year, that is a big if, and a couple of things that make that happen may, or may not be able to fully support this, but we'll see. I'll find the article and post about it.
