another appeal

I haven't given up on this story yet, I swear it. Hopefully soon I'll have more time to work on it--and most importantly, less writer's block. But since I do still want some sort of feedback on what was formerly my big bang, I'm just slapping what I've got so far right up here. If you feel the inclination and would like to read it I would very, ( Read more... )

Aw, thanks! I didn't really expect that many people to even bother, so that means a lot. :D If you end up not doing it, my heart won't be broken, though.

Hope you don't mind me commenting, but I just read this and I really hope you continue working on it. Your writing flows, and while I've read quite a few stories where both Kirk Prime and Spock Prime show up in the reboot 'verse I don't think I've read any stories with nuKirk in the TOS!verse, so I quite like the premise of this.

I particularly liked the set-up for potentially exploring in more depth the differences between TOS!Kirk and reboot!Kirk. I absolutely loved the idea of using the Guardian of Forever to create a portal between the two alternate universes, even if I was surprised that the Vulcan colony is apparently not very well protected against Klingon attacks. (I liked that you included the Klingons though, and that you seem to be building up to using at least parts of the plot of TWOK as a backdrop to the plot.) Also, I would love to learn more about nu!Spock's reasons for seeking Kolinahr and about in what ways his experiences will differ from those of his older counterpart.

Of course I don't mind you commenting! I'm very glad you did--I really appreciate what you have to say.

Reading through as much Reboot fic as I have, I kinda realized that a good chunk of the fandom seems to think that both Kirks are interchangeable with regards to personality, and the one thing I took away from XI was how different they were. Hopefully if I ever do get around to finishing (which I hope to do at least some point into the future) I can highlight on that a little more.
