Samantha (Lea Michele), a 17 y ear old singer, has seen her mentor disappear into Alzheimer's. And Daniel (Alex O'Loughlin), a soldier, is on medical leave due to the believed death of his fellow soldier and best friend.
These four strangers meet in a grief counseling group, and quickly form a tight bond.
