Random fannish observations

1. The Washington Post had an article this morning about the backlog in the copyright office (apparently their new faster system for registering stuff is actually slower) and it was incredibly frustrating, talking about how people were "waiting sixteen months to get their copyrights" and saying things like "you don't need a copyright to publish or ( Read more... )

Oh, I didn't know that Steven was married to Lynn Collins. That's a hot couple right there, man.

I'd never heard of her before, but apparently they've been together for three or four years and just recently got married. He must have been pretty young when they first started dating. Hot indeed. I think I'm moving True Blood up in my to-watch list.

if you had asked me a week ago whether I'd ever be reading porn about Captain Kirk enjoying being dominated and roughed up and choked during sex, I would have said a) totally OOC and b) I don't read fic about those people, oh god my childhood!

*COUGHS* I am SO into Bones/Kirk fic it's borderline embarrassing. I really blame arl Urban for saving Middle Earth and then combating illness in space and being SO SEXY about it.

And to point 9: I really like a like, sci-fi Alice In Wonderland could REALLY work. Wonderland can be this like, utopia a crew is aiming for once plague or something completely destroys their planet. It's a trippy enough story, but if you set in it space, it'd be UNREAL.

Yes, I think people have convinced me that Kirk and Bones would totally have hooked up in various random drunken ways while in school together.

And hmmm, that could be a very funky idea. There's so much creepy stuff in those books.

Kirk totally seduced Bones. He looked up at him with a smirk and his dazzling baby blues and Bones just sighed and went along with it.

And The Odyssey in space would be cool, too. You could call it 'O' :D

I'm always happy to know I'm not the only one obsessed with threesomes. :D ;)

I wasn't really expecting the OT3-ness of Star Trek to be so blatant, and numerous as well. I think this may end up being another verse where I ship Everyone/Everyone.

I'm with you on the 15,000 words not being a long epic. I find it sad that so very, very few people write stories over 100,000 words these days, especially ones that aren't just a strung out OOC torture/comfort fest, not that there's anything wrong with that on occasion.
