I went to nominate fandoms for Yuletide (I think I will actually participate this year!) and someone had surprisingly already nominated one of the things I wanted that I wasn't expecting to see there already. And not only had someone nominated the book series, they'd added the two side characters from one specific novel that I wanted! Wow ( Read more... )

I suspect that if its what I think it is, then the other person was me. That is all.

(Also, speaking of 50,000 word epics: I will get to yours, but I suspect not for another week-and-a-half. Possibly the shorter bit sooner.)

I was suspicious, and I called you last night to ask but you didn't pick up.

What I most want comments on there is the first scene of part 1, so if you could do that it would be awesome.

I bet I was still in rehearsal. Pretty much all my useful evening time during the week is dedicated to being in rehearsal these days. But! Play opens in just over a week, so I imagine I will continue to survive.

(That timeline also explains my guesstimates on beta-ing, for the record, as it's pretty much all I can do at the moment to do the most necessary bits of my homework. Still, first scene of Part 1: totally on my radar.)

Anyway, now I'm curious as to just what involving those characters you're planning to request . . . and whether my request would be kinda superfluous. (I've definitely got other things I could want.)

It was 9pm, you probably were in rehearsal.

Length doesn't seem to be a factor for me. I've written short pieces that put canon in the blender and novellas that were intended to fit well as "an episode we never saw" and longer pieces that were AU. Same with my readings, a lot of the longfics I've liked have been AUs but they've also been case-file type things.

But...that's just me. Also, I enjoy working with original characters and making up my own fanon for canon characters that won't openly contradict canon.
