This was great. In many stories, and indeed in the episode, Doyle bounces back from the shooting so easily. Your fic was beautifully written and describes Bodie's care for his partner so well - and thank you for giving it a happy ending! Youlgreave is about ten minutes' drive from me, so I was amused wondering which cottage! Nicely illustrated too.

What a coincidence, that you live so near Youlgreave! I based the cottage on one we stayed in several times, right at the bottom of the hill by the bridge. It's such a beautiful place, I couldn't resist. I'm so glad you enjoyed the story & thanks for commenting.

I loved it! Truly excellent writing - such 'effortlessly' smooth prose (whihc means the reader makes no effort and the writer has worked very hard indeed), and a thoughtful character study. The plot is a credible aftermath to DiaG and the fact that the final scenes took place in my local Peak District was just the icing on the cake.

Your artist is brilliant - I already know her work but was pleased to be reminded of it and to see how she added to your work.

I seem to have struck a hitherto unsuspected vein of Peak District Pros fans with this! I'm in Sussex, but I love that whole area.
