I'm So Getting Flamed For This...

Jun 09, 2009 14:32

SPOILERS for anyone who hasn't read the manga, and hasn't gotten past chapter 437.

WARNING: REALLY, READ THIS WARNING:
This is not friendly to NaruSaku fans (especially Sakura fans), so if you're an easily offended NaruSaku fan, then really, don't read this! Because I really don't like fighting... And yes, if you argue that ~posting this, I have to face the consequences~ well, you're facing the consequences by just reading it, after I gave a fair warning NOT to D:

**

No, seriously, I'm seriously going to get flamed for this, but whatever. I feel the need to explain the very subtle differences between Sakura and Hinata, because, let's face it, last chapter has called for absolute fandom wank.

Oh the rivalry between NaruHina, and NaruSaku fans... hm... on with the show?

OK... This isn't going to be some in-depth analysis, just a few basic points that all of you are aware of that I'd like to just, resurface :]

The differences between Sakura and Hinata... more like their love for Naruto.

Hinata:

Looking past the flailing us NaruHina fans experienced in Chapter 437, we really must look deeper into all of this.

Hinata has been in love with Naruto for how long now? Oh yeaaaaah *facepalm* since the beginning of Naruto! We've seen countless times, how Hinata turns a beautiful tomato red everytime she sees him, how she stutters so much more than normal when she's around him, how she basically crawls into corners when he's 100 miles within her darn Byakugan range... Lalala. So, Hinata isn't the type to be basically throwing herself at someone to get their attention (like SOME people), on the contrary! She kept to herself, and tried to work on her self-esteem and confidence to be acknowledged... sounds like someone familiar... oh yeah, Naruto.

Naruto was the main inspiration for her wanting to be stronger, better, and more confident. Look to where it's got her. She's created her own ultimate defense, and has now almost reached the same level of jutsu as Neji.

We've seen in the first ever few chapters of Naruto that Hinata had always admired Naruto from afar, despite what all the others think about him. We can deduce that the closest person to Naruto at that time, without it being verbally or physically viewed, was in fact Hinata. She looked past the ~monster~ in Naruto and admired him as a person. Yes, Hinata is shy. So that's why she was never friends with him. We can clearly see Hinata's fear of rejection, so she settled for observing at a safe distance.

Sakura:

For the most part of the first part of Naruto. We see that Sakura had never even acknowledged Naruto, at all! Her sights were set on Sasuke, and only Sasuke. Only then did she start paying a MICROSCOPIC bit more attention to Naruto when Sasuke called her 'annoying' after she said that Naruto was all alone and had no family, so Sasuke virtually pwns her with his come back. Anyways. Skipping the parts where, Sakura continually shouts/hits/ignores Naruto and is flailing like a crazed fangirl over Sasuke... But wait!

There seems to be a turning point! Erm... Is it when Sasuke leaves? And Naruto makes her the undying promise to bring Sasuke back? And Sakura says ~you're the only one that ever understood me~ lalala. Seems to me, that she needed Sasuke to leave to open her eyes to the people around her, and not be so closed off in her ~zomg Sasuke is so cool!~ world.

So, we see in part two, Sakura running to an enraged psychopathic 4-tailed Naruto. Then Yamato says something like, "it's the small things you do that show him how you feel--" oh darn, rudely interrupted. Was he going to say something about love?

There was this moment where, Sakura has a flashback looking over her mum's arse at Naruto sitting alone... Thanks Kishimoto for shoving that into the manga to make Sakura look at least a little less guilty of not acknowledging the poor boy. Her comes the difference though! See Sakura's attitude? Now, look at Hinata's... do you see the difference? I do! Sakura had the FULL capability of going up to Naruto and becoming his friend... But HERE IS WHERE IT ALL COMES DOWN. SHE DID NOT. She stayed hiding behind her mum's arse, and never really spoke to him. Oh, if Hinata wasn't so shy.......... you getith my pointith.

I guess it's a little late Sakura. Naruto knows you've reserved yourself for Sasuke. Yes, he still bothers to ask you out on a date, but you always reject him... is it fear of losing some sort of dignity? Frankly, I do not know. All I know for sure is that Sakura's now open eyes, opened a tad bit too late. Naruto had always been there for you, but you rejected him at every point.

General Comments:

Well, now, what's happened? Hinata has confessed her undying love to Naruto, and Sakura has gone to thank him by hugging him, in a more than friendly manner. Hinata stands back and does... nothing. Why doesn't she do something, us NaruHina fans ask. I guess I have the answer.

With the amazing luck of having the Byakugan, Hinata could see everything that was happening to Naruto. He was taking a hefty beating by the Deva Path (AKA Pain/Yahiko). She obviously couldn't stand to see it anymore, and despite being told to stay away from the fight, she plucked up the courage from the heavens and went to help him before he recieved the ending blow to his troublesome life.

Ok, so Hinata goes and rescues Naruto from danger, she confesses, he's shocked, he goes to (almost) 9-tails, simply because he saw her get stabbed. Hm... tell me, to cause someone go all 9-tails because they saw someone else get stabbed MUST have made the said person give a GREAT impact on the Kyuubified kid. Yes, or no?

Yo, did that sentence make any sense? Because I confused myself writing it down... Ahm.

Sakura goes to heal Hinata after Naruto left the building, and states that Hinata loves Naruto... And she has a sort of sad-ish look on her face. Really, what kind of look was it? The type that says, ~zomg a competitor! But I actually like this opponent for once~ or ~what should I do now?~ or ~zomg diz suckz y0~ or or or and or. So many possibilities for what's going on in her head.

Moving on... Sakura goes and hugs Naruto after his heroic return. What kind of hug was it? ~oh thank gawd you're safe Naruuu~ or ~thank you for savin' the peoplez~ or ~look Hina! stick it! Naru is miiiiine~ or could it be deeper than the pile of shit I just said? I think the latter! To me that hug was more than just a friendly hug, more than a hug of relief... Could it be possible that it was a hug that symbolised the wall that has finally broken down to keep Naruto away from Sakura? If any of you remember, Sakura hadn't even hugged Naruto when he'd been away for 2 and a half frikkin' years! Why now? What motivated her to do so? Other than the fact than she CAN hug Naruto whilst my beloved Hinata is too chicken!

So, we see Hinata in 2 glorious panels in that entire chapter, despite her importance to the whole ordeal. She is seen crying, and thanking Kami-sama. Then smiling as she thinks of a few dots. I am fully aware that it is just a drawing, but let's study the features for a second! If you notice, everyone is smiling/grinning with their eyebrows all fixed downwords (except for Shibi who seems to be very displeased... has a bug crawled up the wrong way inside of his anus? I do not know). Aside from all the similar looks of everyone's faces, let's see Hinata's!

http://www.onemanga.com/Naruto/450/06/

Her eyebrows are titlting upwards and she isn't smiling with all her heart like the rest of the village (except for Shibi guys! And possibly Shino! Who can see his mouth anyhow?) her have simply twitched a fraction of a centimeter and stayed there for a painful panel-long moment.

Taking in the psychological analysis of the way she's smiling... It's not a comfortable smile! Her eyebrows are placed in such a way that you can say it's worry, confusion, and simply not knowing that the hell is going on! But she smiles anyways (or is trying to for all we know). Could this be a feeling of rejection?

(Side note: I'm not pulling things out of my arse for the psychology bit... I'm studying it as an A-Level subject, and I'm a straight A student in it, so...)

So, since she had the courage to put her life on the line for her beloved, why can't she just make her feet move towards Naruto to give a proper greeting us crazed fans have been anticipating for Lord knows how long? Simply because, at that moment her fear of rejection has just risen, again!! as I have previously mentioned, so going to hug Naruto, he might just stand there stunned not knowing what to do (kind of the reaction with when Sakura hugged him) and, well, lalala. So, Hinata has a fear of rejection... Rejectophobia? I think so! Why did she have the courage to go confess her love? Because at that moment, adrenalin took over all logical thinking. The end.

Conclusion:

Or maybe I'm just digging too much into this... I know I've asked more than I've answered, but really... I'm not living in the fabulous Kishimoto's brain to know what the hell is really going on. All I can do, is come up with things that might get flushed down the toilet as soon as the next chapter comes out and proves me wrong.

Oh the many questions that rise from the recent chapters.

LASTLY!!!!! Don't get me wrong guys... I don't hate Sakura, I just don't see her as a good person to pair up Naruto with.

Ohhh.. one more thing, ja?

Guys... seriously? Danzo lost his right eye. But Madara has a mask that allows him to see out of his right eye... Please to be connecting dots. Hey, I'm not saying you guys are wrong, I just can't see how that works... maybe it's just me D:

As I sort of, kind of, in a way predicted I'd get flamed, I really hope I don't. It is a pain, D: And, as you guys can clearly deduct, this is a VERY light hearted analysis, so really! I don't like firrreee! D:
