Would you mind a tiny bit of editing? A well dressed man in a suite, also far to pretty to be standing in an alley should be A well-dressed man in a suit, also far too pretty to be standing in an alley. (Unless "suite" is a British idiom I'm unaware of.)

This is just lovely, hon! It's sweet and funny with a touch of angst and then a HAPPY ENDING, which I hugely approve of. This line: “Would it have been so bad? Us being married?” - I can just hear it in my head, and feel my heart BREAK for poor Hex. Oh, Hex. ♥
