Does anyone else wonder what else is out there? We're stuck in one city when there's a whole world around us. Can they really keep us all in one spot forever, when there's so many of us ( Read more... )

bridget, murder is so last week, musings, nothing important to say, itchy feet, being friendly, brooding

So, you got the urge to wander around, huh?

I almost went on that first exploring party. Got busy with some other things and couldn't.

.. oh hey, I see you're talkin' to Nanako.

Yeah...? You seem pretty rooted here, now.

Nanako?

Are you suggesting an exploration team?

I'm not suggesting anything. Just voicing my thoughts.

It might be a useful thought, when the weather gets warmer for people to move around without needing shelter.

Probably. I wouldn't be averse to one.

They've done a good job so far. I imagine without going directly through them, getting out of the city would be a feat.

I don't think it would be that hard, if enough of us banded together. But I don't think the people here are big into large cooperative efforts.

The fact that it would be in their best interests seems to go over most people's heads. But people are like that everywhere, aren't they?

They probably are. Still, what would happen if everyone tried to leave at once? I guess we'll never know.

Not sure about the size of the cities you live in, geko, but this is a fairly small population by most standards~

Standards aside, there's only a few scientists. If enough of us were to try and get out at once, would they- or the monsters around here- really be able to keep that from happening?

Hmm, who knows~?

Mind you, that's probably the fastest way to get a whole bunch of people killed, geko. The tough guys could get through, but little kids? I don't think so~

Besides, the last time I checked, most people still have their chips in. Who knows what the scientists can do with those, geko~

Not that I'm saying it's a bad idea to make a break for it... But I almost wonder if the outside is worse.

I wouldn't ask the "little kids" to do something like that.

True, though there's a lot with them out as well, and if we can just figure out where the latest locations is... but this is all just speculation.

It may well be, but sometimes that doesn't matter as much as going out there and finding out for ourselves.

It wouldn't surprise me if they were able to keep us here. After all, they are able to bring the dead back to life, they bring people here from across the entire expanse of time and the universe. Keeping people in one spot seems like something of a lesser achievement.

As for the attacks and killings, I doubt whether the criminal sees them as a waste of time.

...When you put it that way, it does sound pretty futile, doesn't it? Still, you'd think there would be more people trying. With all these newcomers who don't yet have attachments here, maybe that has a better chance of happening.

Of course. But hey, it was worth a shot.

That's true. And, in all fairness, the fact that they bring people from other worlds lends credence to the idea that they have less control over their own world that we are led to believe.

Of course.

W-WELL it's like 8:30 am here so I may as well just stay up, rite? Rite? <_<;; church_man February 8 2009, 13:31:22 UTC
Hn... it sounds like you've put some thought into this yourself. If you had the chance to leave the city, would you take it?

Murder without some kind of reason other than 'I like to kill people' just never really appealed to me.
