Jin MTV Iggy Promotional Event

Nov 21, 2010 01:30

As I had mentioned previously at you_and_jin, I was one of the lucky fans chosen to be in the audience for the MTV Iggy event.  I'm sure the broadcast for this will show up at some point but here's a recap of what happened.

Everyone that was invited to the event starting lining up at around 3pm but we didn't actually get to go inside the studio until around 5pm or so.  We were not allowed to have cameras and was warned many times by security to not jump on Jin when we see him.
The audience went through some rehearsals regarding where we should be facing, standing, cheering, etc.  I got to stand in the very front off to the side ^_^

Jin performed 3 songs: "Bass Go Boom" , "Oowah", and "Yellow Gold" with a bit of Q&A in between the songs. After each song/segment, Jin would go off stage and hide in the back and kept passing by where I was standing XD

Here are the questions that were asked and briefly what I could remember of Jin's responses.

Host: What's different about touring in the U.S. versus touring in Japan?
Jin: He said something along the lines of challenges with performing to wider audiences.

Host:  Do you miss anything from Japan that you can't get in the U.S.
Jin: Mom, Dad, friends
The audience responded with "awww" after each one.

Host: What is the process you go through when composing songs?
Jin: He writes the lyrics first and then the tracks to go with the lyrics

Host: How would you describe your musical sound? The lyrics, melody, take us through step-by-step?
Jin: *pauses for awhile* mixture of hip-hop and pop, ballads, some rock

Host: Have you thought about including Japanese songs in your concerts?
Jin: Yes, *crowd goes wild* BUT he'll only sing Japanese songs for shows in Japan *audience pouting*
then he says he's going home and pretends to walk off stage

Host: A lot of fans have said that rock music would be suitable for you. Have you considered making rock music?
Jin: He doesn't want to confine himself to only one genre of music.

Host: What artist would you compare yourself to?
Jin: He doesn't like comparing himself to anyone. He just wants to be himself.

Fan Questions (These were scripted by the way so they're corny/generic for a reason)
Fan: Having acted in Bandage, would you like to continue acting, either in Japan or America?
Jin: He said something like he wants to continue acting since he loves it and American movies that are released in Japan cost a lot of money to make.

Fan: What is your ideal type?
Jin: He doesn't have a specific type. Basically girls that are nice, intelligent, fun, etc.

Fan: What do you think you'll be doing in 10 years?
Jin: He doesn't like to plan out his life because if they don't happen he'll feel stressed.  He hopes to still be doing what he's currently doing and be married with kids.

Some other tidbits...
Jin was all smiley pretty much the entire time and being silly, dorky Jin that we all love.
While the host was introducing him, he would sometimes mimick her off camera.
"Boom Boom Pow" was one of the songs playing in the background and Jin was rocking out to it for a bit (Lol, reminds me of that CTKT episode)
During one of the breaks, one of the dancers (Dom)  points at the bottom of Jin's jeans and says "Nani kore?" but says it wrong.
Jin laughs and corrects him and then Dom proceeds to fix the bottom hem of Jin's jeans.

My memory isn't perfect so to anyone that was also there, correct me if I'm wrong.

I had an absolutely amazing time. I've had my ups and downs when it comes to Jin, but my opinion of him really skyrocketed after this event.
Also it was really nice to meet yokumiz , kimi_no_koe , jin_aishiteru , miszjli
