So... how do they put that giant advert on the building? Is it pasted on from the insides of each window? Does someone actually paint it on the outside? That's... HUGE.

When Emirates started flying to New York, they put up a depiction of the Statue of Liberty on that building. It was substantially taller than the real one.

My office building has a large ad as well (although much wider and far less tall). They paste it on the outside. There are small holes throughout it so that you can still see out (albeit not nearly as well).

I imagine it must be in tiny pieces as a big sheet that large would be difficult to manage. It's amazing the whole thing even lines up. I guess it's kind of like the adverts they put on the large SUVs around town. You can see out, but seeing in is almost impossible. :)

Yeah, it's in small panels covering the thing, and the panels themselves are covered in small holes around 5mm wide or so so you can see out. It's a similar material to what they use for fast food window displays, though I imagine it's a bit easier to remove than that stuff.

Hey S. the swede is making his first entry. I miss dubai so much, and love the pics you paste. Seen some of the scenery and as the pics show it's all lovely. =)
