Kristin Hersh at Scala, London, November 21st and 22nd

Some of you know that 4AD is doing a series of shows (ten, I think) in London called "1980 Forward." If you've been paying attention, I said recently that I was the luckiest person in the world, and that was confirmed when Don and I got ourselves to London for two nights of Kristin Hersh. great pictures...they were fantastic gigs weren't they. i think you've recorded all the really good lines. i also liked the bit where some guy shouted for a song about sex and she replied...'they're all about sex......and death' and then chuckled to herself!

Glad you got to see her. She is simply amazing. Ive gotten to meet/watch her play sevel times over the years as she and I share the same home town of Newport, RI. One of my friends up there even has his yearbook with her picture in it.

When I said I was the luckiest human on earth, I forgot about photoghome!! Man, I'm so jealous of you. She had Baby Bodhi with her so she wasn't hanging around to sign stuff (I was armed with about 12 CD books, heh). Maybe I should move to Rhode Island?

"Bright Yellow Gun"!!!??? Damn, I wish I could have seen this. I used to have the biggest crush on her, both personally and musically. She's one of those singers who conveys a nervous breakdown really well, ya know? Like it's her last breath, she's got the bags packed/shotgun loaded and she's gonna tell you like it is before she's out.

Well said. I crush on her, too. I emailed her this morning and told her I wanted to be Kristin Hersh when I grew up. But I can't play the guitar... I'd better start practicing.

Awesome pix! Last time I saw her in concert I lived in Chicago and she had dark hair and a basketball under her shirt. I love trying to play her songs on guitar. I didn't know she named her child Bodhi - that's my sister's cat's name.

Did Shane mention he lives 2 miles away from me? Pretty random, random girl. That lava will really wreck your hair, be careful.

Xanga? But.. but Livejournal! Wow, it's good to hear from you, though! I just had a major wave of missing you. I remember you saw Kristin - you told me last time I saw you, and I was SO jealous! That was over a year ago... shit, too long. We're definitely coming to Texas in January. That is random about Shane, my, how is he? How are you?

I joined Xanga because I had to have an ID to comment to my neices - but yours allows anonymous comments! I don't know why Xanga has to be such a hard-ass. You and Don should go out for hibachi grillin fun (sake bombs and all) with Robert and Emily and me while you're in town. You can see their new condo in the tornado building and the restaurant is right across the street.

It is extremely random about Shane in that I found him smoking a cigarette in front of my company's data center (that I rarely visit) and his company moved out of that building 3 weeks later. It's so cool to talk to him, he is really down to earth. If only he didn't have a stinkin girlfriend at Stream! I had a crush on him then. We were laughing about that, because he totally knew =)
