Damn Yankees...

As a public service announcement, if you think y'all is plural you are a damn Yankee.

The plural form of y'all is all y'all.

I always tell people that "all y'all" is the plural familiar. Like vous, or vosotros.

Although the actual explanation I use goes more like this.
To one friend: Y'all should stop by when you're in the neighborhood.
To a small group of friends: Y'all should stop by when you're in the neighborhood.
To like, fifty people, some of whom you don't actually know, but who you're feeling friendly towards because you're kinda drunk: All y'all should come back to my place for a PARTY!!!!11!1!1!ELEVEN

Hmm... y'allz, seems like a vernacular usage that is unacceptable in Standard American Southern English.

Or perhaps all y'all is the formal and all y'allz is the informal usage. I think I need to check my Emory English Dictionary for usage rules.

Please do. I'd hate to commit a faux pas at the waffle house.

Or at the Cracker Barrel.

FYI: I am pretty sure it is pronounced "fawk paz" just in case you were wondering.

Just like how H'ors d'oeuvre is pronounced "horse devours", because those silly little french things are so small you have to devour them like a horse.
