I think we should always leave our hearts open for love. Shutting ourselves off because of fear of being hurt ultimately shuts us off from experiencing life. Love would not be as sweet if we had never also felt heartbreak. As with all things in life, we have to take the good with the bad or risk missing out on the good altogether.

I know I say this from the standpoint of a married woman. But even the love of my life has the capacity to break my heart (and does on occasion).

On another note, I have another friend who has prophetic dreams about mundane events.

The only dreams I seem to remember are zombie apocalypse dreams where I'm one of a small group of survivors trying to reach a safe haven. I've have beaten a large zombie dog to death with my bare hands in a dream. Kinda scary. o_0 But I absolutely refuse to write those down. They happen several times each week and have for as long as I can remember. But I will not live them enough to create a story from them. At least not verbatim.
