Being the antique collector that she is, I imagine your mom probably has a pretty good eye for things becoming collectable.

And were antiquities only 1.45? I thought they were going for almost the same price as revised were. Which reminds me, do you remember when card stores rationed out their packs? Only 3 packs of revised per person per day, and that's only when they had them in stock!

For all I know, by the time we started buying "Antiquities," the price had already gone up because of demand. But the retail was indeed only $1.45, because they only contained eight cards each! 3rd Edition ("Revised") packs contained fifteen cards each ( ... )

I still remember that I had purchased a lot of packs before ever seeing a black card.

Agreed, I can't believe it was only a few months. I recall my brother giving me money to buy my 3rd pack of the day for him, since I could only buy 2.

Free bowling was excellent!

The first tournament I played in was a 4th or 5th edition sealed tournament, I don't remember which. We kind of stopped playing for awhile around Mirage, but somewhere in that block we started playing in tournaments.

I want my Magic Player Rewards cards. I'll only get a few, but I can't wait to get some of those.

If you played in 4th Edition, that's wild, because that was pre-"Ice Age." 5th Edition seems far more likely.

I've gotten two Player Rewards cards so far: textless Mana Leak (awesome!) and a Sliver token (not so awesome...). Tournaments at the local place are $1. I may start doing them just to get Player Rewards cards, even if my decks are not very good!
