I don't know the name, but it is perhaps one of the most common cloud formations around here. Pilots call Australia the 'country of the long cloud.' Possibly if you go have a look at the cloud appreciation society you will be able to find the technical name for it?

Radiatus! See, I knew they had a proper science-y name.

. . .

I still need a pocket copy of the Cloud Lover's Guide; this is being made very clear to me. Something to look for in my bookshop touring, possibly?

(The internet asserts that the Land of the Long Cloud is the Maori name for New Zealand. Either way, I would still like to see that written on a map. It would improve the geo-political structure of things if more countries were named thusly.)

Everything has a proper science-y name, it is just that some things don't know it yet. *nod* Latin terms make all things good. Not necessarily my English though.

*sigh* I do too and I am not likely to find it in a bookshop here. Seeing as how I spend most of my time getting a cloud watching version of basilica neck.

(Well, it is, but I think I said that it is the pilot's who call here that as well - something about the way fronts come in across the mainland and never break up. Apologies, I was not so clear on my indicating that they appropriated the name. I would appreciate it endlessly if we didn't have a stupid name like 'Australia' that is all to easily confused with 'Austria.')

Herring-bone pattern, I believe.
The ray capture is stunning! Well done.

Sorry, the former country bumpkin creeps out at times. Are they thin enough to be cirrocumulus?

They are low, low cumulous clouds.

Radiatus! It sounds so much more important in a Latin term, no?
