In Short, The Owl Aviator Hat Is Up On Etsy

I don't normally like to go into mundane matters here (particularly mundane, distressing matters), but I've hit a situation now where I feel that I do need to mention it ( Read more... )

the world is scary, design-fu, illo, filthy lucre

this will not do at all :(

i really do love all of your creations and i am in need of a winter hat. i have put off asking you for much too long and i'm sorry that my being spurred into action had to come from a post full of bad news. can i bespeak a hat from you? i love the "twilight in pittsburgh" and "eliza's hat" styles and the colours you have displayed in the photos are pleasing as well (love purples and browns and, if possible, even some warm greens thrown into the mix). let me know what one of these would cost and how i can go about paying and i will be so happy to wear one of your remarkable head cosies!

It never rains but it, well, acts out the flood that drove Noah to build an ark.

It is not winter, but I could possibly see my way towards a hat of some sort. Just one that is simple like the Pip Hat (looking I mean, not knitting). I wear mostly black but will wear dark greens, browns or greys and am picky about reds. It would have to be when I got paid rather than right now where I have nothing to my own name. Postage of course will be included. Failing that, I erm... will eventually need some business cards to hand out at conferences. Take your pick of tasks? I can't afford all at once though.

I will have a look at your mother's shop and ... apparently browse patterns. It would seem. I shall also pass it around in case some people I can think of are interested.

I'd be happy to point people at your direction. :-) Also I would be VERY happy to buy a pair of those knitted spats, that is if you still make them.

Likewise. I have been all about legwarmers this year.
Alas, while I love the owl hat, I need brims on hats as I have no forehead, but I could also do a pip type hat.
I like just about any bright deep colour.
Direct me to the paypal.

Sorry to hear it. I'll spread the word and try to buy something when my own cash supply is larger (in two weeks).

In the meantime, another friend needs participants for an fMRI study, and it pays well. Here's his description of it: "non fat, non left handed people, non claustrophobic (fMRI rules), who can spare 13 hours split up into 5 days including time in the MRI and lots of time playing a boring video game in an office for $280 bucks." It takes place at CMU. Would you or your family be interested/eligible? You could all be left-handed for all I know.

Thanks for that. I know most people have things super-budgeted right now, so I really don't want to feel like I'm shaking anyone down for money. And. Well. Giant earthquake in Haiti. I expect a lot of people will be putting their extra funds towards charities there, which is entirely understandable.

Hmm, yeah his qualifications pretty much rule us out. I could draw an amusing Venn diagram for you of how inappropriate my family is for that research, but I won't.

Good luck. I'm sorry I can't do anything to help at the moment except continue to link (and fail at that at the moment due to the Migraine That Ate My Life) ::hugs::

Your cd packaging is still the most brilliant I've ever seen.

Thanks for the hugs and the luck and your confidence in my skills. They're as necessary as anything else too.
