Watching football is a good time, if you're watching the right conference. . .

I don't really watch much football, but when I do, I like to see one of two things: A) Ohio State, and/or B) a good game ( Read more... )

Last night's game result was all my fault... serendipity_9 January 8 2010, 16:36:10 UTC
I don't like watching football (love to play with the guys, but won't watch it - refuse to be in the room when the sound is on because of the idiotic announcers filling air with inanity). But I have in-laws in Athens, AL who send me gifts, including a white-on-white 'bama sweatshirt. It was snowing yesterday, so I pulled it out of a dusty drawer and wore it, not knowing that there was any football game going on, let alone with that team. Not even paying attention to what was actually on the shirt - it was just warm and matched my socks. But there it is: the God/desses must have led me to that sweatshirt yesterday, favoring that team, and the injury to the Texas quarterback pointed towards that favor, too.

So I apologize if you're a Longhorns fan - I know there are quite a few in ADF. Then again, Karen Clark is a die-hard "Roll Tide" fan, and Cary echoed her sentiments on Facebook. ADF has lotsa diversity!

Oh, I have no love for the Longhorns. I just wanted to see a good game. . . which I didn't get to do, unfortunately. That's what makes me disappointed about the whole BCS lineup this year: it just wasn't very good.

From everything I saw during the later half of the season I think Bama and Texas were the two teams to duke it out. I certainly would have liked the game better if McCoy didn't get hurt, Bama's offence seemed to be resting once they went up big since Texas couldn't get anything going. To me this game showed why teams shouldn't keep their starters in blow-out games just to pad their stats and try to get their start player the Heisman, had Gilbert or whoever taken more snaps earlier in the year he might have settled down much, much earlier and we might have saw a game for a full sixty minutes ( ... )
