Recently, I have been listening to NPR on my way to and from work. It makes me feel like there's no reason to flip on The News Hour With Jim Lehrer after work. Anyway, I have been enjoying the shot of news and information presented in general, and some things in particular.

I didn't get a Facebook account until I discovered that my grandmother had one. And I've regretted it ever since.

My take on it?

They're all kind of wrong. I think you adapt to the people you want to socially interact with, and using median ages is like saying "I think the Mona Lisa is a happy painting because of the amount of beige in it". So don't let labels bother you... Not that I think you do anyway.

Plus the latest metrics I've shown have the younger groups showing the biggest uptake with Twitter. Statistics, eh?

I really do love twitter though. No quizzes, no auto-playing music and no need to be sitting at my desk to use it. Elegant, simple and reliable.

Twitter has always seemed to me to be a whole bunch of people with nothing worth saying, yet saying it in abundance. There are exceptions, of course. But it was generally a lame utility long before the MSM started hyping it beyond all reason and the older members of the herd started stampeding into it.

Considering Facebook and Myspace were basically designed for college students, they already were for "old people."
