How The Beastie Boys Saved My Relationship

Jul 11, 2007 09:41

Last Tuesday, I called Maggie in a frantic panic. The conversation went just about exactly like this:

Maggie: "Hello?"

MJD: "I have a life-or-death question. It's very important."

Maggie: "Um, okay."

MJD: "Do you like the Beastie Boys?"

Maggie: "Uh, yes. Yes I do."

MJD: "Good."

Maggie: "Is that all?"

MJD: "Yes, yes. that's all."

Maggie: " ( Read more... )

There are many things that should be said for men, but yes, this, too, is one of them.

Woulda been much better without the explanation, I love throwing random questions at people, "OK, now this will decide the future of our relationship, so no pressure or anything, but who was the best character on A-Team and why (Mr. T excluded, of course) ???

Granted, that could be why I'm single...

Heh. The explanation, partially, is just bizzare enough to make the whole thing slightly more tweaked.

Kevin is also the roommate who, upon finding a pretty and lacy undergarment of Tina's hanging in my closet, left me a note on the hanger saying, "Mike, if I ever see you wearing this, I will beat you to a pulp. Have a good day! -K"

He was a good roommate.

Ohh, sorry, the answer we were looking for was Col. Hannibal, that's right, Col. Hannibal, but thanks for playing and good luck in Round 2: "Who was the best Voltron antagonist?" and now's the time to start thinking about our final question of the day, "Religion: What one is the right one anyway?" ... :)

However, Murdock could have also been accepted if a strong enough case was made.

Did you like it even though they changed the character of the Autobots, especially Jazz, from the original shows?

Oh, there wasn't that much changing going on. The most interesting thing, I thought, was the reinterpretation of the first three episodes of The Transformers, and how elements of the pilot actually ended up in the movie in different, innovative ways.

I just wish there had been more robots and less people.

Well, maybe more people being squished or flicked across rooms or something.
