Wow. Good writing. Too bad the content isn't happy.
I can relate. I was always so driven and motivated. I've done everything "right." I made good grades (great grades, actually), got my degree, met someone wonderful, got married, and now I am pregnant. And suddenly I have lost direction. I don't know what the hell to do from here. I am still making coffee drinks. I guess I am currently waiting for something to hit me. I'm in limbo. I knew it would happen, and I dreaded it.
Was it you I had the conversation with about just wanting to press fast-forward on life? That would make sense. I guess it's pretty common for people our age to feel like this, but that doesn't make it less real or frustrating in our own personal experiences. I think they call it a quarter-life crisis, haha.
It sounds like you need a change of scenery. I felt like this right after I graduated. I knew I wanted to teach German and am really passionate about it, but know I'm not good enough to do it. Yet. I am in the process of applying for these great opportunities, but if they fall through, I will be lost. I only wanted to be in limbo for a year while I figure my shit out and can continue moving forward. Luckily, I still feel like I am moving forward by paying off loans and working two jobs. I know that in a year it will be old and I will need something new
