Right now...

My baby is on his very first school bus ride, on his very first field trip ever. Sigh.

Actually by now he's off the bus, the farm where they're going to pick pumpkins and take a hayride is only five mintues from school.  Still...

Where does the time go?

There was a pumpkin farm over on hwy 34 in Colts Neck, NJ that my kids went to for their hayride and pumpkin picking class trip. When they got older we would take them ourselves. Then make a stop over to Delicious Orchards where we could get some pies and let them do some apple picking. I do miss New Jersey sometimes.

Yep, it does have its perks. Property taxes notwithstanding...

And yes, Duffield's farm has a great market too. Pies, baked goods, produce...mmm....

Property tax was the reason we sold our house and moved out here. We were living in Neptune City which borders Avon, Belmar, and Bradley Beach. I miss the ocean. We were about 10 blocks in from it.

Now we have casinos that have little fake pumpkin patches set up where the kids can pick pumpkins. We took our grand daughter last night. She had fun but it is not the same as trudging through the mud and muck to pick out that perfect pumpkin.

That IS weird! That woman is in Cincinnati, though. I suppose this is the time of year for all the preschoolers to go to the farm and pick pumpkins.

I wasn't working though, and I didn't feel guilty. I had four WHOLE HOURS all to myself for the first time in...years!

LOL
