I own the first three books (or so) of this series in one big volume -- it was given to my husband when he was the manager of a bookstore -- but I've never read them. I really loved a short story by Naomi Novik in the anthology Zombies vs. Unicorns though, so I'd like to try her someday.

I highly recommend this series! Fair warning, though -- Novik's tone is a bit more serious here than in the unicorn story.
