Well, this sounds disappointing on many levels...

Thank you, you saved me from reading it.
To comfort you: Mr. Darcy's Bite was really, really really good.

Yeah, you'd be better off skipping it! Of course, I will likely not touch Mr. Darcy's Bite because it appears to involve vampires, which should NEVER be involved with Austen in my opinion. Glad you enjoyed it though!

werewolves.
But really, really really well adapted to the plot!

Werewolves? *sobs pitifully*

Haha, just kidding...it's better than vampires, at least!

You DO have a lot in common with my older sister! I bought this book for her as a Christmas present because she was raving about it so much. XD

Took me a while to find it, too. You'd think something like this would be easily spotted in a bookstore but nope, I had to hunt for it.

Well, unfortunately, I didn't end up loving the book, but I hope your sister enjoys it more!

I am curious about this book! But that is shocking about the lack of scenes together...I may have to rethink how soon I want to read this ! :P

To be honest, you can wait. :) It was definitely a bit of a let-down for me.

I heard P. D. James interviewed on NPR about this book, so it did catch my eye. But I'm generally opposed to adaptations anyway, so I think that I will skip this. I am still working my way through her Adam Dalgliesh series anyway, which will take me years.

And thanks for posting it to the European Reading Challenge.

Now that you've read your UK book, what country is next?

I would stick to the Adam Dalgliesh books -- I hear they're pretty good! I read the first one and remember liking it.

I think Turkey will be my next stop on the European Reading Challenge...I'm waiting for a book to arrive in the mail! :)
