Try The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle by Murakami. You have to read it twice to really understand what's going on!

Thanks for the rec; I've heard it's one of his best books. It's just that he's so over-hyped right now, I don't know if I'll get to another Murakami anytime soon. I'm sure I'll get over my ridiculous prejudice at some point, though!
