The first book you read in 2010: An Autobiography by Agatha Christie.

I am ashamed to say that I found the movie version of Cold Comfort Farm to be a bit funnier than the book. Perhaps some of the 'written funny' went over my head a little, although it's not heavily into regional humor, is it? (I think I read this in 2009, so I am a bit fuzzy on it...perhaps a re-read is in order.)

Of course, the cast for the Kate Beckinsale version was pretty fantastic!

I quite liked the movie version of Cold Comfort Farm too. The casting WAS great, and the adaptation did a good job of retaining as much of the humor as possible. I personally felt like some of the humor translated better in the written version, as when Gibbons put asterisks next to the "best" (a.k.a. funniest) passages.
