No offense, but do you spend a lot of time with this person? If not, I don't see the big deal if you both use the same name, but that's just me... In fact, I always feel pretty honored when a friend uses the same name I have used for my kids because it means that someone obviously thinks I have good tastes in names. Call me crazy, but who really cares?

When I was pregnant with Patrick my future sister in law, the Russian Mail order Bride, who is a witch, sat me down and told me that the name "Michael" was hers and that I was never allowed to use it because she was going to name her son that. Thankfully I never intended to use the name, but if it had been a name I had liked, if I had the baby first I would have definitely used it. It's silly to say you have dibs on a name... People are stupid.

Oh, I fully intend on using the name, regardless of who has the girl first. I haven't seen this girl since forever? But I do know that she and Carly hang out a lot. I just thought it was rude of her to say I hope you have another boy so that I can use the name. WTF?

What's funny? Carly had a baby girl name picked out, Everly, and Jen had a baby girl, and named her Everleigh. WTFBBQ?!

I can't really talk about 'stealing' names. Carly has a Gabriel too. But really, Julian and Gabriel were the ONLY two names we could agree on.

Yah, that was definitely rude and completely mean to say of her. She sounds like a real witch herself. Does she have a girl already? Maybe she's spiteful and jealous and you're pregnant right now. Who knows... but if you don't even really see her, I wouldn't worry about what she thinks. It's not like she's really a big part of your life anyways.

My parents almost named me Kate, which would have been the identical first AND last name of a cousin that was only about 11 months older than me. They changed their mind but still: having the same name as someone else is not a big deal. It's not like it's copyrighted.

I'd unfriend her for being a jerk, but I'm a brat like that.

Oh. That's an idea...Why don't I think of things like that? I'll probably put her on ignore status at the very least.

I love that ignore status... I hate the idea of unfriending anyone (although I've been unfriended a number of times!!!), but at least with blocking they don't know you're not interested in knowing anything about them, and you get to avoid getting hurt or annoyed by them :)
