Thank you for your concern and thoughts...shellianne and enigmaroolz also appear to have dodged the bullet ( Read more... )

Yay! I'm glad you three escaped the firing squad!

The mullet count was kind of light at the show...maybe current fashion is slowly making a foothold into AR...

Yeah I wished that your pics did too. I hate it when my pics turn out crappy. Only a few of mine from that show did. :(

The concert was certainly a cerebral experience, to say the least. *g*

Glad to hear you didn't lose your job. That's surely a relief for you. We don't have layoffs here .. not at this level, though I've had more than enough scares to know exactly what it feels like to not be sure if you have a job tomorrow.

I agree that The Hours was a fabulous movie, by the way, though I don't know the criteria that the Oscars uses to pick its winners, so I will not say it should have beat Chicago, which I also thought was fabulous.

LOVED the redneck pictures, by the way. Too cute. And too true. Living in South Carolina, I see my share of them, sad to say. I'm still debating going to see the fireworks because of the high percentage of stupid rednecks and their sproggin (AKA Children, fuck-trophies, crotch-nuggets) that will be there.

I did not think that I had anything to worry about, but when they announce layoffs, it certainly causes speculation across the board...terrible for morale, and an awful way to save money, IMNSHO.

I don't exactly know what the procedures are for awarding Oscars, but I think that the impact of the film on society, and its whimsy come into play. As a cultural event, I would say that Chicago had more impact, and that is probably why it won....but it was a good year for movies.

Your terminology cracks me up....I can't say that I have heard those terms for children before, and they were quite amusing.
