God bless Benedict XVI, whatever his faults, I do believe he is what the Church needs right now: an intellectual who can counterbalance so much of the negativity out there.

True.. and I was pleasently surprised to hear that he had gone to the refugee camps and saw the conditions there, and spoke plainly about the Apartheid wall.
