This is going to be a difficult post to make, because as personal as I've gotten in many posts, this will be the most personal of them all. It's mostly in response to the recent post on homosexuality, which for whatever reason seems to bring out the worst in us. Yes, I am definitely not trying to feed into the movements that seek to justify any sort of sinful behavior, regardless of the form. And clearly repentance is the key. But it's also important to understand that even when a person repents, it is certainly possible that they will fall again. One of the areas where I think we as Christians often falter, especially in our love for our gay sisters and brothers, is that we can so often be unforgiving in such a way that if the person truly does desire to abstain, even if that desire is only a small flicker of desire, we somehow brand their repentance insincere if they fall again. It is possible for a person to fall continually into the same sins, especially those they struggle with most mightily, and their repentance to still be sincere every time. I think my story hopefully demonstrates that, and I hope that we can relate it as well to those who struggle with homosexuality, especially because the seemingly hopeless absurdity of the gay Christian is so much more than what someone like ( ... )

I love Camus, I think he really has so much to say to the Christian heart, and I think ultimately he just points that much more to the need for Christ, even if that is a realization to which he himself never arrived.

And I'm glad I can make Thomas happy :-)
