Yes, and the thing is, too, that to be "anti-Christ" is not just to be against Christ, but to replace Christ or substitute what He is with something else in our experience.

To replace or substitute Christ with your own morality or human virtue is to deny that Christ is the reality of these things. Even creed-confessing Christians can do this, and we all participate in this to some extent.

Many Christians pray for peace, patience or joy as if these were abstract things that God gives us, and not Christ Himself living in us as the reality of peace, patience and joy.

In my experience, the more I pray in such a way, the less real peace, patience and joy I have, because in my prayer I am not opening to God's way of answering such prayers--His working of Christ into us.

Another clear and edifying post. I greatly appreciate these. The distinction between eclusively moral goodness and full ontological goodness is an important one.

Of course, being morally good is a subset that we mustn't ignore -- and that also gets its share of attention in scripture.
