Not slumber, but not walk out into the middle of the desert to expect him and nearly die so that the government has to send people to aid you, like happened 200 years after the founding of the Church.

Slumbering is just as foolish as dropping everything in anticipation of something that, by the early Church's standards, is 2,000 years overdue.
