Even better is Umberto Eco's work on semiotics, even if John Deely takes him to task on a few things at the end of the latter's Four Ages of Understanding. All the same, Eco's work is well worth the read.
The bible is pretty clear that the love of money is evil.
On that, we agree. We must not love money for itself, as it can clearly be a hindrance if we do - see the young man who couldn't leave it behind when Jesus tested him.
I tend to think that having money is ok, unless you have excessively much of it, such like big business owners.
And here we disagree. I think it's perfectly okay to be a "big buisness owner" and have a lot of money - as long as you earnt it honestly and don't worship it, there is nothing wrong with being rich. And as was pointed out before, those people can actually be a blessing for many if they do good with their money.
