Number 3 is "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe" by C.S. Lewis. Number 8 is "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" by J.K. Rowling (I think).

I had some guesses on the others, but I cheated and looked them up first. Was totally wrong. I'm a bit hidebound in my reading, tend to stick to reading the entire catalogue of authors I read once and liked. I haven't quite made it to popular fiction, esp. since I discovered fanfic, I read far less "real" books than I used to.
