I usually get crazy colds for MONTHS at a time and when I get flu-like, it's bad. I would end up taking loads of cold meds (Nyquil, cough drops, etc.) which would make me feel kinda better, but also trippy & eventually depressed & hazy.

This season, in light of trying to be healthier, I decided to try a different route. When I got coughing-up-lungs sick, I took a few ibuprofen for the throat pain whenever I needed it and one or two "natural" Halls cough crops, drank LOADS of hot green tea, and make homemade chicken soup. My congestion was gone in record-time and hasn't come back. I still go through tissues like mad, but that's just cos my nose gets cold easily & runs a lot. Sexy.

I kinda swear by my 2 thermoses of hot green tea every morning, now. I seriously have never gone this long during the winter without getting prolonged sickness.

Horehound tea always helps my coughing-type illnesses. But it takes really vile and needs lots and lots of honey.
