Primarily I'd like Labour to reverse the paranoia they created with criminal record checks. We need to get back to a time when it was perfectly normal for adults to interact with children and those interactions weren't laced with mistrust or poison. This has caused far wider problems in society in so far as adults are frightening to even speak to other peoples children these days. All the statistics show that family members are more risk to kids than strangers so the CRB checks all the wrong people.

Security cameras! Why the need for so many? Is it to crack down on anti-social behaviour, bring the wrong doers to justice or to keep watch on the population 24/7? We're so paranoid with them all around the country has become so dull.

Also, in conjunction with James' point (sort of), the ridiculous amount of health and safety legistration. For example why is it so difficult to arrange something so simple like a school trip?

All this has done is given power to ordinary folk who can now claim for the smallest thing. Before people just accepted that accidents happen. People have their rights and all that jazz but we've reached the levels of pure pettiness!
