Baby Lamb Pictures - Lambing 2009 begins!

A bit later this year and twice as stressful. We rounded up the first two ewes on Saturday, walked them to the Lambing pens, set up the Lambcam baby monitor TV feed and waited. And waited. What a nail-biting story! Alas that the first lamb was lost - but yay for the resulting cute two. And with all that care and attention, Mum may be weak and shaky, but I'm sure she'll get there.

Oh yeah.

Adorable babies! But - do I understand this correctly - the one ewe had THREE lambs?

Good to see you on LJ again, Chris! Knowing how busy Spring is for agricultural families, I suppose there's little hope of regular updates, but don't forget you've got friends here always glad to hear from you!

That's right. Last year three of our four ewes had triplets! I blame it on the wet summer we had the year before which meant all our ewes went into the autumn tup replete from lush grass. Unfortunately it puts more of a strain on the mothers.
