To recap: it's September 1995. We'd just survived eight months in France and then this happened. Someone stole my identity and grabbed our life savings. At last I have copies of all the correspondence sent and received by my impersonator. One contains details of the bank account he'd set up in Spain - an account in my name...The last page of our ( Read more... )

When is this coming out in hardback?

When will it be serialised on BBC?

You still have me on the edge of my seat.

When will we get the rest of it or a recap of what has been going on so far, as I am by now, totally confused! Between this and the car repair stories, I am hopelessly lost...sigh...

Can you answer 1 question for me? Did you ever get all your hard earned $$ back?

The first seven chapters of Nous Sommes Anglais are up at my website www.humor.me.uk/mambo/

And all the other chapter snippets are here on the blog tagged by nsa9 and labelled by chapter title and part number.

And, yes, the money was recovered.

I feel better now, and I will keep reading (re-reading) it again...as long as the outcome was good, I will enjoy hearing about it! The thought that after all of that, you didn't get the $$ would have filled me with the good ol' righteous indignation on your behalf...LOL...

In other news, how did lambing go? when will there be more pictures?

I have several 'lamb gang' videos which I've been toying with posting. They're all 10Mb+ so I'd have to put them on Myspace or Youtube (sp?).

Lamb gangs have to be seen to be believed. It's when all the lambs congregate around dusk and race across the field, boulders and anything that gets in their way. It's sheer frantic fun of being alive and better to watch than TV. Unfortunately they have to do it at dusk when the light's not so good.

I'm totally hooked on the story and can't wait for each installment to come out each week. The last couple weeks I've been disappointed that the story hasn't been moving forward very much - it feels like not much has actually happened and we're just accumulating facts but haven't been able to connect them very well yet.

This week I felt like the story was starting to come together and the pieces of the puzzle were starting to come into place.

One place where I got confused this week... The last three lines use "he" and "his" without any direct reference to the person you are talking about it. I had to backtrack to figure out if this was the estate agent, financial company, or the forger. I went back and found the reference to Castlenau but it would have read easier if you'd given some more clues.
