“without incurring any risk to themselves.” Note the semantics - you're ascribing poltroonery to armchair warriors that might not be the case.
[One of the complaints made against, what is it, Grand Theft Auto, is that it's basically a sim training regimen for gangbangers, and there was a case a few years ago where a guy did in fact “take it to the streets” doing just what he'd learned, until he ran out of ammo…]
