Logical Argument, How not to make one

Over at Simberg's Flying Circus, there's an article up arguing (in part) why one needs a high-capacity magazine in your gun. Now, I am absolutely not opposed to high-capacity magazines, a nd have said so before. But as a simple exercise in making a logical argument, Rand's article fails.

Does anybody think somebody shot twice with a .357 magnum is going to be in any shape to be a threat to anybody?

There _are_ stories of guys doing incredible feats while shot full of holes, and functioning for a good long while.

So? Most of the fights I've seen ended with the first punch thrown. Unless serious training or drugs are involved the human capacity to handle shock and pain is generally over rated.

Also, I think you're slightly missing the point, which is:

1) Dude didn't need more bullets because he had nothing to shoot at
2) My hypothetical of what could have happened is every bit as valid as yours
