2012

I'm going to make a bold prediction. Absent a massive unforced error on Obama's part, he will win re-election in 2012 and the Democrats will regain control of the House of Representatives. I predict this largely due to the Republican's current actions, which remind me of Democrats circa 1982 ( Read more... )

There may be a problem with that prediction.

I know for a fact that people I worked with on the Hillary 2008 campaign have been actively working against every single Democrat who supported Obama’s nomination. Everyone who backstabbed Hillary Clinton is being undermined and sabotaged by people who might still be registered as Democrats but have no more loyalty to the party. Sometimes, conservative sites try to make this into a “sour grapes” sort of “Hillary’s revenge” meme - and there might be a taste of this in what’s going on - but the real driving force is that we former Democrats saw just how insane these people really are and we are now doing everything we can, behind the scenes, to use everything we know about the Democrat Party to collapse it from within…

Total bullocks. The article just repeats right wing canards about Obama's alleged "left wing radicalism", which is extraordinarily funny coming from somebody claiming to have been a Clinton supporter, as Obama's policies are not that different from those Clinton put forth in the primaries. Even more unconvincing is that they would vote for Palin instead. Democratic voters punish Democrats by not voting, which suited the Republicans rather well in 2010 ( ... )

O yah, I hear you - but it IS interesting. That picture of the iconic Che Guevara portrait posted on the wall of Obama campaign headquarters in Florida caught the attention of a LOT of people (thanks mainly to the determined efforts of the Cuban emigres in Florida who first noticed it ( ... )

Gordon, this is sheer stupidity. I know actual, honest-to-God card-carrying Socialists (Eric Flint, for one). I studied Latin American history under a Mexican professor that was a card-carrying Marxist. JetFX, the Canadian commenter you replied to, stood for a Canadian election in the Green Party!

Obama is not nor never was a Communist. Clinton, despite the feverish desires of anonymous Internet commenters, is not trying to sabotage his re-election. Besides which, if the Democratic Party were communist, that would mean Former First Lady Clinton was a Communist too. (News flash - the Dems aren't communist. Neither are universities - another of my history profs was the Republican committeeman for his ward.)

Seriously, please get a grip on reality.
