Yay! Good for you, you're totally awesome :)
I only got about half way, and then RL hit me with a big stick, and I got stuck there. I am still working on it a bit, but it won't be nearly that large I think, and it'll take me a few months. lol

I can't wait to see what you came up with, the idea sounded great when you were telling me before. :)
I'm the same way, I prefer to have a hard copy when doing editing and proof-reading. I'd be happy to take a look at it for you if you want

Congrats again :)

The point is you are still working!! I like the concept of NaNo because even if you just write a few words, it's more then you would have. But that you didn't just walk away at Dec. 1 is also awesome. I think though this I have found that an idea is worth working on. No matter how long. It's just satisfying to see it come to an end. And not the bloody, gut pulling, I need this done now, kind of end... no one likes those. ;-)

Oh yeah! You'll get a copy. :-) thanks. There is something about seeing it on a screen and then seeing it in your hand. And ereaders are nice "hard" copy, but you can't mark on the!! Although it is more portable then a stack of paper...

Thanks - and good luck on yours! I'll return the reading favor when you have it ready!

Congratulations on your book!

I find reading it on the ereader helps, though it's a bit more difficult for editing purposes. (Calibre is a friend, a nice free conversion program, makes putting my stories into a book form very easy. I make my mother read them that way.)

I can't necessarily promise a quick turn around for reading, but I know how hard it is to find readers, so if you want to send it to me, I'll read it.

Is your Scrivener the Mac version? Because I couldn't seem to find that text to speech option on mine, which is Windows.

yes I have the Mac version. I got bored (aka frustrated) and started reading the manual that I bought with it too... it said that the Windows version is in beta, and will be a few versions behind since it was developed first for the Mac.

I found the text to speech an issue with my Kindle, since it wasn't giving me that option on my pdf, don't know if i would have put it on as a txt if it would have liked it better. Mom got a Kindle Touch and it seems to read it - and you can adjust the font. Silly tech.

I'm not looking for flash editing/reading - that's for my fan fics! So your offer will be taken up! My NaNo group seems to be functioning only in November, so I have lost a group of potential readers/helpers. I'm sad because there were a few who knew the subgenre - steampunk - well.

I'll have to look into Calibre to see what it can do. I love friend writers - we share all the good finds!!

Yeah, the Mac version is ahead of the Windows one, so I don't get that feature yet. Oh, well. I was thinking it might be helpful to listen while I did other things, give me some editing time while I cleaned or something.

I don't have a Kindle (a Kobo), so I don't have a speech program on it, either.

You have my email address to send it? I can PM you it if you like? I didn't get together with my Nano group, though that could have helped.

I like the way Calibre converts things. They look beautiful in epub, though it's better if it's not a pdf conversion.

ah no, I looked in my email box and I don't think I have our email!! Horrid!

I think there are some free text to speech software - has to be. I am thinking of re-reading this week while I am still at my parents and start the editing process maybe. Mom has been reading it, and so far giving positive feedback. A few questions which I fill in the gaps, and kind of make me realize not all is explained. But that's the beauty of editing...

I miss not having a writers group to just even chat about writing and not feel odd. I mean, I can here, and I guess I should utilize it more...
