Various Order of the Phoenix thoughts:

* Dolores Umbridge gives cat people everywhere a bad name.

* She also made me think of the term "oppressively pink."

* I'd forgotten Harry can be a good teacher.

* The horse-like winged creatures (I'm blanking on the name for them in Potter's world thestrals! They're thestrals! Thank you, Interwebs...) are really beautiful in their way.

* It makes me wonder how close Gary Oldman's portrayal of Sirius Black is to the way Oldman is in real life. I've heard he's a very gentle man.

* Happy-making to see Dumbledore's backbone (and yay for Fawkes the Phoenix having a role!). It's easy to forget Dumbledore has an assertive side. (Which reminds me of "Horcruxes," Chapter 23 in the sixth novel, where Dumbledore rightfully blows up and sets Harry straight on why Harry's better than Voldemort; I think it might be one of the best passages Rowling's ever written.)

* I cried a couple of times near the end.

* This was good. I still think the third film is my favorite of the adaptations, and I don't think the fifth film reaches the same heights as consistently, but when this one works, it works. The finale (rocks things fall, everyone dies runs) has got to be mind-shredding in IMAX 3-D.

* This film makes me increasingly excited about the prospects for the sixth film. (The fifth film's director, David Yates, will direct the sixth as well.)

* Oh, and happyspector, I'm not sure how close Natalia Tena as Nymphadora Tonks is to your type, but judging from my reaction, I guess you'd find her mighty fine.
