really glad it's benign. How's she doing otherwise?

In other news, Saul's grandfather's heart stopped for about 10 seconds yesterday and self-started again. They're putting in a pacemaker on monday.

She's apparently doing quite well. I'll call her in the next couple of days to hear for myself.

Sorry to hear about Saul's grandfather - is this Dell Hymes, the linguist? I hope the pacemaker goes well. I know it's pretty routine, but over a certain age, the body just doesn't deal with anything invasive well. My grandfather (my Dad's father - you met him) having to get one was what ultimately killed him. He just never recovered from the shock to his body...

yeah, it's dell, but he's pretty young. the only thing is that he's been a bit senile too-- not knowing where he is, memory loss, etc. as well. they don't know what that's from yet..

it's scary to see that my 85 year old grandfather is in better shape than him...
